I have an assignment of my English class. Before I am going to write a paper, I need to summarize characters.
Stereoyped characters are called stock charcters. Most writers of the literray story, attempt to create characters who strike us not as stereotype but as unique individuals.
According to the English novelist, E.M. Forester, characters may seem flat or round, depdnding on whether a writer sketches or sculpts them. So what is the flat and round charcters?
Flat characters are have only one outstanding trait or feature, or at most a few distinguishing marks. But flat characters need not be stock characters.
Round characters present us with more facets-that is, thier authors portary them in greater depth and in more generous detail. Such a round character may appear to us only as he appears to the other charcters in the story.
Flat characters tend to stay the sam throughout a story, but round characters often change - learn or become enlightened, grow or deteriorate.
Some critics call a fixed character static; a changing one, dynamic.
The idea of the gratuitous act is a deed without an cause or motive.
